Chamomile and calendula are not decorative additions to this formula — they are the reason it works the way it does on the face. Both are calming botanicals with a particular affinity for skin that needs steadying: chamomile through its anti-inflammatory character, calendula through its longstanding use in supporting skin that has been stressed or sensitised. Together they give the Bare Skin Face Balm its quality of settling the skin rather than just sitting on it, and that quality is what separates a face product from a body product that happens to be applied to the face.

The foundation underneath them is grass-fed tallow — chosen because its fatty acid composition sits close to what the skin produces naturally, which is why it absorbs the way it does rather than remaining on the surface. The botanical oils each contribute to how the formula moves and feels: jojoba integrates without residue, Kalahari melon seed and baobab keep the texture light, mafura butter adds depth and staying power. Lanolin is one of the more effective moisture-locking ingredients available, and its inclusion here is deliberate — it is what holds everything the formula delivers in place, hours after application. Tapioca starch softens the finish. Benzoin resin and vanilla absolute add a warmth to the scent that is present without demanding attention. Rosemary extract rounds out the formula quietly, supporting its stability over time.

Warm a small amount between the fingers and press it gently into clean, slightly damp skin. It absorbs quickly and completely. Use it morning and evening, or whenever the skin needs it — a small amount goes further than it looks like it will.
