What Is the Ocean Breeze Bar?
Traditional boerseep — beef tallow, water, and sodium hydroxide — with bergamot essential oil. Bergamot is a cold-pressed citrus oil with mild antimicrobial properties and a clean, fresh character. It contributes genuine skin benefit alongside its scent — bergamot is well-established in natural skincare for its balancing and cleansing properties. The tallow base moisturises and protects the skin barrier, making this bar suitable for dry skin, sensitive skin, and babies.
What It’s Used For
- Body and face — gentle daily wash for all skin types including dry and sensitive.
- Hair — works as a shampoo bar. The bergamot gives a clean, fresh result without synthetic fragrance.
- Babies and children — no synthetic fragrance, no sulphates, no additives.
- The whole household — one bar for everyone. The neutral fresh scent suits all ages.
How to Use
- For body and face — lather between wet hands and apply. Rinse clean.
- For hair — wet hair thoroughly, rub bar onto scalp or lather between palms, massage in, rinse thoroughly.
- For babies — lather between adult hands first, then apply gently. Rinse well.

Beef Tallow (Skin)
Tallow is incredibly similar to the chemistry of our own skin. Beef tallow penetrates deeply into the skin, providing intense hydration. It restores and strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier.
Aqua (Water)
Sodium Hydroxide
Sodium hydroxide, also known as caustic soda (Afrikaans: seepsoda), is a common ingredient in traditional soap making. It plays a crucial role in the soap making process. It’s a highly alkaline substance that triggers a reaction called saponification when mixed with fats or oils. Without sodium hydroxide, the saponification process wouldn’t occur, and you wouldn’t have soap! Once saponification is complete, the sodium is fully consumed in the reaction and completely safe to use on your skin.
